This multinational PPE manufacturer had been working towards sustainability since 2019 and wanted a refresh to their strategy, specifically to refocus on their evolving client needs. After mapping their current status and interviewing clients as to their perceptions and needs on sustainability we refocused on the areas that matter and would ultimately deliver improved customer relationships & ROI.
Our first step was to review the current sustainability status of the client by reviewing commitments and action across the business. These were then assigned to their relevant UN SDGs to enable mapping of the gaps.
Simultaneously we determined and reached out to their top clients across differing industries (public sector, construction, chemicals) and asked them for their opinions on the current sustainability actions, their likely needs on sustainability for the next few years and what opportunities there may be for collaboration on sustainable initiatives.
Their sustainability plan was then redesigned to be appropriate according to the current and future needs of their enterprise clients, with a clear map to show where gaps needed to be addressed.
Clients were very happy to discuss the sustainability aspects of their relationship with the manufacturer and were effusive about how they would like to work together to meet their needs.
The team were delighted with the validation of their new direction and have now instigated this “client check in” as a yearly part of their CRM.
